Advanced biological cleansing

In the Anammox process, ammonia (NH4 +) and nitrite (NO2) are converted into free nitrogen (N2) and water (H2O).
NH4 + + NO2 → N2 + 2H2O.
In this process, no oxygen is used and therefore in the waste water treatment plants, we save a lot of aeration which is one of the major energy guzzlers in the traditional cleaning process. Anammox bacteria grow slowly, and therefore we use certain plastic media that the bacteria can grow on and be secured in the mobile plants’ tanks, so that the bacteria are not being flushed out.
Plastic media of the type K5 which anammox bacteria can grow on.
